Businesses
Over the past few years, through acquisitions, strategic alliances and organic growth, we have created the world's leading learning company, Pearson Education. We have all the pieces - the most comprehensive range of educational programmes, leadership in testing, assessment and enterprise software, and the very best in online consumer and professional learning. We offer content for every age and level of student from early learning right through to professional life.
US school:
We are the leading (preK-12) pre-kindergarten to 12th grade curriculum, testing, and software company in the US. Our early learning offerings include integrated and scientifically based learning and assessment tools from Pearson Early Learning, Pearson Digital Learning, and SchoolSuccess. Our premier elementary (Scott Foresman) and secondary (Prentice Hall) imprints publish the leading school programmes, including reading, literature, math, science and social studies. We also publish supplementary instructional materials and alternative text programs for both elementary and secondary schools through our Pearson Learning Group.
We lead in online assessment and digital courseware through Pearson Education Technologies, and we are the leading commercial testing company in the US, scoring and processing some 40 million student tests across the US every year through Pearson Assessments and Testing. In fact, nearly 50% of US schools use at least one of our student curriculum, instructional management and financial software packages. And Pearson NCS Data Management offers a host of scanning and OMR solutions, software, and hardware for document intensive applications within the education, federal and commercial markets.
Family Education Network, the single most popular K-12 learning destination on the Web, is also an integrated part of Pearson Education.
Higher Education: We are the leading college publisher in the world, with imprints such as Prentice Hall, Addison Wesley, Longman, and Allyn & Bacon. These publishers represent around one in three of all the text and online programmes studied on US campuses. Our Pearson Custom Publishing adds extended value to the college business, allowing educators to fully customize their classroom materials.
Professional/Technical:
Our professional and technology group publishes leading computer, information technology, and business titles, with imprints such as Addison-Wesley Professional, New Riders, Peachpit Press, Prentice Hall PTR, Que and Sams, and Cisco Press, complemented by InformIt.com, our online IT Web destination. In training, FT Knowledge partners with leading companies to deliver learning that equips people to implement company strategy, solve business problems, and perform better.
